Education, although the word usually means what you do at school, college or university, doesn't stop when you graduate. Many people in Japan keep on learning and educating themselves today. They learn something new outside of schools, colleges and universities, too. Long experience of teacher education in this faculty led us to start graduate courses and the new department. The Continuing Education Department, started as new groups of courses in 1995, is for students who want to be community instructors or mental health workers. It is possible for a CE student to get the credits for schoolteacher's license, but it is not necessary for the bachelor's degree. The Department has four groups of courses.
| Off-Campus Schools |
Fuzoku is a Japanese word meaning "attached to" or "belonging to" something bigger. The Fuzoku Schools, the Schools belonging, or attached, to the Education Faculty, have been using this name with pride. Many able teachers, at these schools, have educated students, experimented on teaching, moved to other schools, and become leaders in the field.
